I will be taking a few days off from writing and will be out of the loop until next Monday. I got another page and a half written on SONS OF THUNDER tonight, though. Joanna and Susanna finally showed up in the last few pages of the story and Mary Magdalene came into the plot tonight. I had most of the day off and could have written more, but just didn’t feel like getting the computer out ’til this evening. I couldn’t let the whole day go by without writing something! I must really have the bug!
Oh, well, see you all next week.
I hit the 150 page mark on SONS OF THUNDER today!!! A major milestone in the writing of a novel. I am so excited. It is coming along so well. I think this is being easier to write that either THE MAN FROM CYRENE or A WOMAN CALLED MARY. Maybe it’s just because I have gotten in a groove, gotten a routine and a method. Oh, there are moments and certain scenes that are not so easy, but overall it is coming along great!
I wrote 4 more pages today and I think I’ll quit now, happy with what I’ve gotten done. I can’t wait to get it done, get it proofread and published so I can hear from all of you what you think about it.
Until next time…
I just watched The Amazing Spiderman. Wow, what a good movie. If you are into the Super-hero genre and haven’t seen this one yet, you’ve got to see it! Amaze-balls, as Marilyn says!
I am having a snow day today. I am not going anywhere or doing anything except working on writing SONS OF THUNDER. I have gotten 5 more page written today! I slept in (really late), got up and worked on writing a little while, took a two-hour nap, worked on writing a little more, and now I am going to lay down and see if I can find a good movie to watch. Then I may write a little more. Trying to get to that magic half-way point, 150 pages! I am almost there; up to page 145! It is being a real good story, and not too hard to write. I had been a little intimidated by the idea before I started it, but what else is new. I feel that way before I start any story that is important like this one (and THE MAN FROM CYRENE, and A WOMAN CALLED MARY).
I’m trying not to think about what’s next, though a good idea was thrown at me the other day by my Jewish editor. I want to take a year off after writing SONS OF THUNDER and focus on marketing and trying to find an agent/publisher. But we will just have to wait and see. If inspiration hits me hard I will just have to write the next one and let the Lord handle those details.
Oh, well, I’ll go for now and check out what movies are on this lazy Sunday afternoon…
I was pretty tired tonight but I got two more pages written on SONS OF THUNDER. Got the Transfiguration written. I had been a little intimidated by that scene, wondering if I could do it justice, but it came out really good! I am nearing the half-way point. I am up to page 141 now. Got lots of notes and more inspiration but I am just tuckered out. It’s been a rough couple of days at work. I thought at first that I wouldn’t even be able to write anything tonight, but I just got out the computer and started typing and it just flowed. Got to put it away for now, though, and settle down for the night. Watch a little TV and go to bed early.
Had a little time to write again this morning before starting off to work so I got three more pages done on SONS OF THUNDER. I wish so that I didn’t have to work for a living (hahaha). I could just write all day. Oh, well, such is the life of a working man.
Anyway, I am up to page 138 now and still going strong. Just wrote the part where James and John got the name Sons of Thunder.
‘Til next time…
I had a little while to write on SONS OF THUNDER again this morning before starting my day, so I got two more pages done. It is coming along just great. James almost got himself in trouble again, but with John’s help and the grace of God he managed to restrain his urge to pop someone a good one. James just has a hard time with self-control.
Well, off to the salt mines. See you next time.
